Onto OS · Ontological Coaching

Who the hell are you? ... Who do you need to be?

Ontological coaching goes under the hood of who you're being — the survival machinery running in the background, the past you never completed, the water you're swimming in. We shine a light on the blind spots, complete what's got you stuck, and build a Game Plan for a life you fall asleep every night with a big-ass smile about. Read through the work. Roam around. Jump in whenever you're ready.

The Work

We work at the level of being.

Ontological coaching works at the level of being — who you are being in your life, the story running in the background, the ways of being that are right there but you haven't stepped into yet.

Shift the being and the doing takes care of itself. You become the kind of person for whom the action is natural — you're not forcing it, you're being it.

We shine a light on the blind spots, complete the past that's got you stuck, and build a Game Plan for a life you fall asleep every night with a big-ass smile about.

We ontologically jack you into a whole new way of being — and we'll laugh and cry our asses off the whole way.

Where It Lands

What are you dealing with?

Three practices, three doorways in. However it's showing up, there's a path through it — and a real outcome on the other side.

“My future isn't clear. It's kind of hazy — I don't know where my life is going.”

The Imagery Lab

Build the inner movie. Train the underlying imagery equipment — sensation, stability, movement, scenes — then point it at your future and rehearse living from it.

I'm crystal clear what my life is all about. And even when shit gets in the way, I have a home base inside my gut to come back to.

“I find myself stuck repeating the same pattern over and over — being someone I don't want to be.”

The Breakthrough Conversations

Four conversations that go under the hood of who you're being — surface the survival machinery, complete what's got you stuck, and create a new way of being from the inside out.

I'm being a way I never thought possible. I got off the rollercoaster. I'm unrecognizable to myself.

“I've got baggage and feel weighed down from the past. My relationships are cluttered and shot to shit.”

The Clearing

Clear the past and recover your space. Name the incompletion, tell the truth, use the accesses to completion, and declare it complete — so the past stops authoring your future.

I'm meeting my spouse for the first time.

The Assessment

See what the hell you've been up to.

Put your life on the line. Dump out everything cluttering your space — the complaints, the regrets, the things you're putting up with — and get it all broken back to you with ontological precision: the racket underneath, the life sentence at the root, what it would take to actually complete it, and the breakthrough that's available on the other side.

The Ontological Assessment

Take your ontological assessment now.

Confidential. No sign-in. No vague questions to bullshit through. Only the truth about what's in your space, reflected back to you — a good, hard, cold look at yourself.

The Process

Four conversations that create the breakthrough

This is the architecture of the work — the same one every client moves through.

Onto Coaching

Ontological Breakthrough Coaching

A methodological process to create a big game worth playing.

1

Conversation 1

LOOK UNDER THE HOOD

We slow it down and look under the hood. Beneath the surface of the issue, we get to the layer of being — the identity, assumptions, survival strategy, and habitual way of showing up that keeps the pattern in place.

Outcome: a breakthrough into a new, more powerful, authentic way of being and showing up.

2

Conversation 2

COMPLETE THE PAST

We complete unfinished business, loosen the grip of the old survival strategy, and bring the default way of being into the light so it stops running the show.

Outcome: more freedom, with the old pattern less in the way.

3

Conversation 3

CREATE A NEW FUTURE

Now we move into the visioning process. What do you want to create? What would feel deeply right, meaningful, and energizing? What are you really here to build?

Outcome: a vision you can feel and move toward.

4

Conversation 4

TURN THE VISION INTO THE GAME

We capture what came through in the visioning process and turn it into milestones for the game: clear priorities, next steps, and a path you can actually work with in real life.

Outcome: a grounded game plan with real milestones.

Ongoing Coaching

Then we keep taking action — working the milestones, building momentum, and using core practices to stay aligned, honest, and moving. We review, refine, and keep the game alive.

Michael Paone, your coach

I grew up in Boston, first in my family to go to college. Had plenty of previous lives — public policy, social work, advertising. Then at 35 I got coached for the first time and saw how I was drifting like a leaf in the wind, blaming my past for my lack of aliveness. I broke down, took a stand, and made my first real choice: to commit to excellence and living passionately. I've been playing that game full out ever since.

1,600+ coaching hours, 500+ people. My approach: we complete past experiences that hold you back, then — in the space that opens up — create a new future that actually lights you up. We turn roller coasters, survival loops, soap operas, all the drama and struggle into breakthroughs. We rewrite your story.

Sarah's Story

The Struggle

Sarah sat stuck in a mid-level role, telling herself she wasn't "leadership material." Every time a promotion came close, she'd self-sabotage and stay put.

The Breakdown

A survival strategy was running her: "I'm not ready yet." It kept the risk of failure off the table by never stepping up to it. It dressed up as humility.

The Breakthrough

She distinguished the life sentence underneath — "I'm not enough," a decision she'd been actively keeping alive for decades. She got it as a story, the water she'd been swimming in, and saw she could put it down.

New Way of Being

She started being someone who's already the leader she'd been waiting to become.

The Outcome

Inside 3 months, Sarah stepped into a Director role. The bigger shift: she stopped waiting for permission and started leading from exactly where she was.
